New York

I ended up at a karaoke bar full of elderly people. They were a pretty vital bunch taken as a whole. A few of them were fine singers, too.

One lady who was less than stellar was namde Janelle. She stepped up to the microphone to sing "New York, New York." What she lacked in real vocal talent she made up for in her ability to project the general grime of the New York streets, as well as the drunken swagger.

Janelle was New York to me, and always will be.
